New Book Cover Kit

◆New Book Cover Kit During my temporary return to Japan in July, I plan to sell some of my past kits as well as new book cover kits. I have sold book cover kits in the past, but this is the first time I have made a fully embroidered work. Until now, I have used different colors for each pattern, allowing me to enjoy the three-dimensional feel of a flat piece, but the sample work uses only one color of thread. Of course, I would be very grateful if you could arrange it in a colorful way and share the charm of the book cover colors that I have not been able to express.
We plan to sell our products on minne ( link here ). We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to some customers as it is difficult to prepare for sales on our website, and we appreciate your understanding.

◆Kit introduction : A fully embroidered Kogin book cover that allows you to enjoy a variety of patterns.
We hope that you will experience the joy and pleasure of completing the book cover, the joy of holding it in your hands, the joy of it becoming more beautiful with age, and the joy of cherishing your precious book through the process of making a Kogin-zashi book cover. The size can be adjusted. We hope to have a version that can be adjusted to fit the book perfectly available for sale next year.
I think that everyone who is considering this product has a different life background. If there is anything in the pattern of use that you are not comfortable with, please feel free to replace it.

Set contents
The materials delivered will vary depending on the kit you purchase, but the details are listed below.
① Instructions : 5 sheets planned
1. Written explanation of ingredients and cooking method
2. Overall view and tailoring points explained
3~4. Instructions and explanations on how to sew
5. Description of the design

② Design : The format is as follows

③ Kogin cloth : Kogin Duel or Tsugaru

④ Kogin needle : Olympus For this fabric, I recommend using Olympus Kogin needles or Tsuki-Ya Kogin needles with rounded tips to prevent warp threads from splitting and to make it easier to apply pressure to the surface glue. You can of course use whatever you are accustomed to, but please understand that this is just a comment made after comparing the different needles.

⑤Kogin thread
1. Tsugaru Kogin Thread (Fabric Hakogin Duel )
2. Tsukiya Kogin Thread (Fabric Hakogin Duel)
3. Tsukiya Kogin Thread (Fabric Kogin Duel)
4. Handmade Fan Kogin Thread (Fabric is Tsugaru)
5. Tsukiya Kogin thread (fabric is Tsugaru)
※The sample fabric in ① is not a duel, but this time we will use the same color of duel in the set. Please rest assured that the stitching comfort has been verified.

*The amount of Kogin thread required is roughly fixed, but the actual amount used varies depending on the stitching method and the stitcher. Since I live overseas, it takes time to respond to thread shortages, so I will include much more than the amount you need. Please note that we cannot refund any excess thread.
*Due to price differences in materials, additional fees are charged depending on the option selected.

⑥ Lining
Cotton linen. If you can't choose the color, leave it to us.

⑦ Fusible interfacing
We will send you two pieces, one for the kogin fabric and one for the lining fabric. If you don't like it, you don't have to use it at your own discretion, but we recommend using it because it gives the fabric tension and makes it firm, making it easier to put books in and take them out.

⑧ Twill tape
20mm wide. It's just the right amount of soft, and the color scheme is fun to use.

◆ What you need to prepare
Please prepare according to the items you are purchasing. For example, if you are purchasing a full set: an iron, sewing tools, a sewing machine (needles and threads for thick fabrics are recommended), etc.
*Although we have not made any prototypes using hand sewing, we believe it can be sewn by hand.

◆ Difficulty: Beginner (for those who understand thread finishing and thread threading)
Even beginners can make this without any problems if they have the patience. If you stab the modoko you will be using first, you can proceed with confidence.
The instructions are written without using technical terms as much as possible, and contain all the necessary information. Even those who are not familiar with needlework should be able to complete the project without any problems.
Also, if you cut the thread to the length of each row and stitch one row at a time, you will have a lot of loose threads to clean up, but if you make a mistake and have to correct it (mistakes are part of the charm of this method), the mental damage will be significantly reduced.

The photo above is one of the photos used in the instructions for tailoring. As someone who is not very good at tailoring, I explain the points I had trouble with when making prototypes and the points to be careful of with about 20 photos.

◆Note
When there is a shortage of thread, we will send more Kogin thread than necessary because it will take time to ship from overseas. (We will match the lot.) Also, we think that many people will have extra thread, so we ask for your understanding.
Please be aware that due to differences in monitors, there may be differences in the actual product and the thread color.
We will order Kogin thread from the same lot, but please be aware that the color may differ from the photo depending on the lot.
Please refrain from duplicating or reselling the kit.
