Kogin Circle 2026
◆Kogin Circle 2026
Hello everyone — I hope you are still enjoying kogin stitching.
This year as well, I have created a new Instagram account to run a kogin stitching circle.
Thank you very much for joining.
Here is an introduction to the circle.

Satonobou (Instagram)
◆ Circle Account
Kogin Circle 2026 (Instagram)
Private account (approval required)
◆ Schedule
Start: Around mid-March 2026
End: Undecided
The account will remain active so that shared knowledge and answers to questions can continue to grow.
However, since having a goal or timeframe can help motivation, we may adjust activity periods based on members’ goals.
◆ Purpose:
To enjoy traditional kogin patterns, appreciate their beauty, discover the depth of kogin stitching, and deepen your enjoyment of kogin even further.
◆ Participation Requirements
• You can introduce yourself (a simple greeting is enough)
• You like kogin stitching or want to enjoy kogin
• You can respect other members’ ideas
• You feel connected to at least one of the goals below
◆Goals:
• Enjoy traditional kogin patterns
• Experience filling the fabric with traditional patterns even without preparing a chart
• Connect with the world through kogin patterns as a shared language
If you feel shy about introducing yourself, you are welcome to send me a direct message instead. This request is to help maintain a safe and comfortable community for everyone.
Please note that members without any greeting or introduction may be removed.
◆ Why I Started This Circle
After nearly ten years of stitching kogin, I experienced a project that was more enjoyable than anything I had done before. It was not something created without thought - I spent a long time imagining the patterns, checking how they would look when used as a blanket, and testing ideas on different fabrics.
Working freely without a fixed answer was incredibly joyful. I wanted others to experience this kind of kogin time - this is the main reason I started this circle.
When stitching based on basic motifs, there are moments when patterns do not seem to “fit.”
At such times, by following the natural movement of traditional patterns and choosing the next step intuitively, new motifs may emerge.
These designs, born from within tradition, often feel surprisingly harmonious. Even parts that once felt like distortions may later appear beautiful when viewed with distance and time.
Although following traditional movement can feel passive, deciding the next step when rhythm or symmetry breaks becomes an active and creative process. From this flow, unexpected and meaningful patterns may appear. Having experienced this myself, I felt that I might be able to support others in discovering it too.

◆ Activities
•Questions and answers
•Sharing experiences
•Polls and discussions
•Information exchange
Members are located around the world, so everyone can participate at their own pace.
At the same time, I hope to create a community where you feel supported — where you are not alone when you face difficulties.
Please note that this circle is run on a volunteer basis by members.
