Koginzashi Kit Book Cover 1 (Paperback)

◆Koginzashi Kit Book Cover 1 (Paperback)
I have previously introduced Book Cover 1, but since there was no introduction of the materials, I would like to introduce it again. This is the first book cover kit that will go on sale in June 2022. The size is compatible with paperback books and is adjustable in size.
The materials are cloth kogin duel, thread tsukiya kogin thread (dark blue and red works), or handmade fan kogin thread (others).

◆Difficulty level and points

Difficulty level is 3. It is a chain-like design that is a further development of the design of Kit 10 . As I mentioned in a previous blog , the design was made by connecting flowers, and I thought it would be interesting to give form to the question, ``What would happen if I connected them?'' so I decided to design the kit as is. It has a layered design, similar to a gift kit . I think if you can grasp the perspective of looking at the structure of the design (its repeated rhythm), you will be able to complete it easily.
The design seemed right to me right away, but after comparing the thickness of the adhesive and the material of the lining, and consulting with my husband, who can be a bit wild with things, I decided on the final material. Although it is not as hard as leather, it has a solid feel.

◆Material introduction
Tsugaru Kobosha Kogin Dwell (linen)
For this design, I wanted the pattern to be vertically elongated, so I chose dwell. We took advantage of the firmness of the glue and made it hard overall so that it would gradually blend in. I don't think there is much shrinkage.
The trick to stitching is that when moving the needle, move the thread upwards as you sew, and when moving the thread up and down one stitch at a time, be careful not to break the thread.
*The Uguisu color is sold out at Tsugaru Kobosha and there is no plan to resell it. The Satonobo kit will end as soon as it runs out. Please check Tsugaru Kobosha's SNS etc. regarding the continuation of the cloth.

Tsukiyakogin thread : navy blue, red fabric
The shiny and tight kogin thread gives it a more formal look than casual. This time I am using 8 pieces of kogin thread. The luster of the thread, the density of the thread, and the durability are all perfect. It also goes well with Dwell. Please try once.

Handmade fan hand-dyed kogin thread
: peach, unbleached, warbler cloth
Compared to Tsukiya Kogin thread, it feels more casual and gentle with no corners. The thread has a matte texture and is fluffy, but it is slippery and provides an excellent stitching feeling. This kogin thread is recommended for those who enjoy color matching because the colors are not too strong.

◆Production secrets
This book cover was made into a kit in response to requests from people who create Koginzashi works in Aomori. I'm happy to hear people requesting a kit, but at the same time I feel a lot of pressure. The process of making a kit is a process of making repeated prototypes, a process of searching for imperfections (which can make you feel anxious), a process of looking at every corner as if you were a third party, and a lot of unsatisfying times. is. Still, when you're just having fun, you learn a lot that you can't experience, and it's very interesting. This is fine! The only way to say this is by making repeated prototypes, and I feel like each prototype is gradually getting closer to the goal. When the instructions and prototypes are finalized, I get excited, so I wake up early and work on them (I feel like I'm itching to get up even before I go to bed). It's not going to be a 100-point kit, but I've brought it to the point where I feel like I can enjoy it with peace of mind , and now it's finally time to sell it.
None of Satonobo's kits has a sales date and time. This is to deal with unexpected family accidents, and it is often the case that just when you think you can do something, you end up not being able to do it at all. From now on, I definitely want to avoid being forced into selling half-baked kits, so the kit has been completed! We will keep you informed, and thank you for your understanding.

(Prototype No. 1. We are still searching for colors, but this is the color scheme that many people have chosen.)
