Kogin Circle 2025[10]
◆ Kogin Circle 2025[10] May Activities Introduction
We're already in September! I hope everyone is doing well. As the administrator, I was on summer vacation from July to August, so updates were slow, but we've had a lot of collaborative posts from our members, and the circle's Instagram account has a fun atmosphere that's wonderful. There are about three months left of circle activities, and some people haven't started yet, some are nearing the end, and some have already finished their masterpieces.
◆Items shared on the club account in May
This was the time when members gradually began to post collaboratively. I won't go into details about what we shared, but when I asked a member what tools they use to look at designs, he shared the tools he actually uses in the photo. This is something I've always wanted to do in a circle. Thank you!
[014] Questions from members (May 2nd)
I have only ever embroidered continuous patterns while looking at a pattern, so I have no idea where to start when trying to do this without a pattern.
▶One member commented with advice to try it little by little. Another member shared their experience, saying, "At first, look at the pattern, then stitch without looking, and if you get stuck, check the pattern..." When I think back to the day I really started embroidering Kogin, the fact that I can embroider a continuous pattern while looking at the pattern seems like a sign of great growth. I'm sure you're all taking on the challenge "little by little."
[Beginner's Works 2] (May 5th)
▶︎Our members shared pincushions, accessory cases, and more, and we introduced them to everyone. The joy of embroidering, the joy of tailoring, the joy of incorporating them into your life, the joy of becoming familiar with them - Kogin embroidery pieces are full of fun and wonderful.
[Questions and sharing of work are always welcome!] (May 6th)
It's been three months since the circle started, and some of you may have new questions. Please feel free to post your questions here at any time.
Also, thank you to all the members who always add value to the circle by commenting, sharing their work, etc. We look forward to your continued support for the remaining 8 months!
▶︎We had a lot of fun discussing various topics, such as where to buy ingredients and our impressions after three months. We also use it as a place for the administrator to make small announcements. We hope to create a more responsive forum, but for now we will continue to use this forum, so we appreciate your continued support.
[016] Questions from members (May 19th)
Is there anything you do to ensure that the threads are neat and tidy without distortion or twisting?
▶︎The answers were practical. They were specific and easy to try, such as tips on how to pull the thread and where to position the needle. I think this is an issue that many people who do Kogin embroidery will face, so I'm very grateful to the members who asked the questions!
[017] Questions from members (May 27th)
I want to stitch plumply, but I don't know how much tension to apply to the thread. Also, I'm using too much pressure, and when I keep stitching, the part where I hold the needle hurts. I'd like to learn how to properly thread the needle and how to use a thimble.
▶ There was also practical experience sharing here. In addition to technical aspects, there was also advice on the state of mind (not to rush), which gave me an opportunity to learn the depth of Koginzashi. I am always very grateful for the people who taught me what they learned in the workshop.
[Question from the administrator] (May 29th)
Do you have a favorite fabric in terms of feel, ease of stitching, color, etc.?
It is not limited to fabrics specifically for Kogin embroidery.
If you choose it based on your purpose, I'd be happy if you could tell me about that too! 🧵
💡It would be helpful for the members if you could also tell us why it's your favorite!
▶ Many members have had questions about materials, so the administrator posed some questions. Each member has a favorite material and has shared in detail what they like about it. The members' perspectives have led to new discoveries of fabric. From the perspectives of stitching comfort, price, ease of viewing, and texture, these posts have really made me feel glad to be part of the circle.
I'm sorry for the late reply and for keeping you waiting. If you have time, please reread the questions on the circle account and there may be some questions that you can comment on over the past few months, so please participate by commenting! Commenting will make the activity more personal and make it even more fun!
