It's the second half of January, but I hope you will continue to support us this year. Last fall, I wrote a blog titled " A gathering to make large kogin?" I'm finally going to start. It's my first attempt, so I don't know what kind of activity it will be, and I don't have an ideal form, but I'm starting with a light-hearted feeling that I would like to share the feeling that kogin embroidery is interesting and traditional patterns are amazing with all of you who enjoy kogin embroidery. Once we start our activities, we may take surveys from time to time, so I would appreciate it if you could answer them.
About our activities
◯Activity period : February 1, 2025 (Sat) - December 14, 2025 (Sun)
Our production period as a circle will end on Saturday, November 30th, and for those who are able to, we would like to share our work (online) in December, whether it is completed or still in progress.
◯ Purpose : Through my own experience To learn about the possibilities and depth of traditional Kogin embroidery patterns and to enjoy Kogin embroidery even more.
◯Contents :
① Create large kogin embroidery pieces using traditional patterns. ② Share what you notice and what you're good at. ③ Participants help each other out when they have problems.
◯ Conditions for participation :
① People who are willing to create large-scale works using traditional patterns. ② People who can exchange considerate words.
◯ Examples of goals and experiences that may be gained from them
1. Enjoy the traditional patterns of Kogin embroidery ▶︎ Experience the standard movements of each basic pattern 2. Try stitching without preparing an overall design.
▶︎Learn the power of traditional patterns (leave the calculations and enjoy the rhythm of Kogin)
3) Try the biggest size you have ever made ▶︎ Feel the sense of accomplishment, discover the warmth of Kogin embroidery, experience how traditional patterns are endless, and feel the infinity of Kogin embroidery with your whole body.
◯ Additional information regarding goals (goals are just goals)
②Whether or not to have an overall design: Free ▶︎ I think that making a design is a challenge, and not making one is also a challenge. If you are new to this kind of challenge, I think it would be fine to try an old Kogin design that is on sale.
③Fabric size: Free ▶︎As long as the size feels challenging to you, it’s OK. If you try large Kogin embroidery once, I think the hurdle for future work will be lowered.
◆About the club Instagram account
We plan to register an Instagram account for our club on Saturday, February 1st, 2025.
*We will also use this blog to share any questions or concerns you may have during the production process (maybe I will collect them and post them on the circle account?), and I hope that in December you will all achieve some kind of goal, grow, and expand your connections. If you have any advice on how to manage the account, please let me know by message.
Some people want to enjoy quietly, while others want to actively interact with others, so please enjoy at your own pace.
